Approximately 2 billion people are infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), resulting
in 1.4 million deaths every year. Among Mtb-infected individuals, clinical isolates belonging
to the W-Beijing lineage are increasingly prevalent, associated with drug resistance, and
